I was thwarted...

A few days back I wanted to post a gratuitious Daniel Craig picture, but could not due to Bloody Blogger's picture thingy (technical term) not working! However, now it is...so here it is...!!

I would like to point out that this didn't work the first 15 times I tried this on my PC..had to wait until I got home to my Mac to upload the sodding picture....

Will the real men please stand up!

Last week I had a few hours to kill so went to see the latest Indiana Jones offering. It was as expected, entertaining, amusing, action packed, but with a little added extra...a real man...Harrison Ford does 'male' really well, regardless of his age, it's all in the attitude.

It seems that this latest performance from Indiana Jones has reawakened a certain 'longing' in the female population...for a time when men were men and girls were...well girls!

This longing for 'real men', gives us the Retrosexual. Mr Retrosexual has been around for a while, however, it seems that Indiana Jones has given a new face to the ilk!

For those of you not paying attention...modern man has changed a few times over the past 30 years...

We have had SNAGS (Sensitive New Age Guys) or Blokus Domesticus the Australian version! Then we had to suffer Mr Metrosexual.

Personally, I always thought that Daniel Craig fitted the real man (retrosexual) image - as bloody blogger is still not working properly...here's a link to gratuitious pictures

Here's hoping that Mr Retrosexual does not morph into something sensitive in the near future!

Do I really need an excuse....

This was going to be just the picture of Daniel Craig, and then I reasoned that I am not so shallow that I would just a gratuitous picture of Craig, so I decided that I better write at least something to show my train of thought (such as it is!)....

Whilst reading Market Manila's Christmas post about all his 'Bond' loot, I came accross this link (the picture in the article is not for the faint hearted!) which also linked to this article about Daniel Craig in his shorts (the picture in this article is not for the faint hearted either...but for different reasons)....

As one who has spent the past 25 years lifting weights, I suspect, or at least I hope, that Craig's Bond might signal the return of the beefcake over the androgynous metrosexual as the new paragon of manliness.

I am sticking my neck out here, but I suspect that muscles never really went out of fashion. Women have for years been throwing their underwear at the sculpted chests of Chippendales.

And Mills and Boon novels, where the heroine invariably finds herself snuggling up against the broad and hairy chest of her brooding paramour, have been bestsellers for years.

Which reminded me of a post I wrote about the Milk Tray Man a while back...

OK, that's enough...you make the connections...I'm just going to sit enjoy the view for a while..
