A master of understatement.....

Reporting on Typhoon Mina/Mitag that is presently skulking off the East coast of the Philippines, Philippine Government meteorologist, Nathaniel Cruz was quoted as saying that Mitag could become a 'super typhoon' with possible winds of up to 200 mph and "The end result is that more things will be blown down and destroyed,".

You don't say........

Those of you that remember the chaos and destruction inflicted by Milenyo last year....may agree that 'things being blown down' is a bit of an understatment!

Okay, color me confused. You move to Bangkok, you don't post anything for three months, you start posting again, everything is about the Philippines. Am I missing something?

Spike: A few reasons... firstly, the news in the Philippines is addictive and more colourful than anywhere else - really! Secondly, my first five months or so here I have basically been incacerated at work and have been nowhere that all of you well seasoned bloggers haven't been and really not yet experienced Thai life. However, now that things at work are more stable (well at tad, at least!) I can start looking at life here!

Carlos: Many thanks!
