Only in Hong Kong #4

Horse Racing in Hong Kong.....until 2003 it was Hong Kong's only legal form of gambling....the racing facilities at Sha Tin and Happy Valley are amongst the best in the world.

Horse Racing here is like a religion...the horses, the jockeys and the betting....Saturday's and Wednesday are generally the racing days and outside the Hong Kong Jockey Club betting shops people lounge around smoking, reading the papers and placing their bets.

Silent Witness (named as one of Time Magazine's 100 most influential 'people'!!) is a horse that has now (as of yesterday) won 17 consecutive races (a modern racing record)and has therefore developed an almost God like status in Hong Kong.

Yesterday Silent Witness won its seventeenth race...its owner prepared 10,000 baseball caps signed by the trainer and the jockey to celebrate this momentous occasion. As the caps were handed out to the devote thousands....this happened.

Only in Hong Kong........
