It's Tom Jones....so it must be Sunday...
Either the radio stations in the Philippines have some strange love for Tom Jones or it is just coincidence....but this is the fourth Sunday in a row that coming to work in a taxi I have been subjected to Mr Jones crooning, and it's not just one song....it's two or three!
Maybe it's a Tom Jones Sunday morning hour....will ask next week!

I almost hate to say this, but Tom Jones is actually a great singer and lover of jazz and blues. PBS had a six-hour series last year on jazz and blues, and Tom was one of the featured singers, and he is very serious about his love of those songs and melodies. I can also make fun of his silly older songs, but he's really a great singer, loves the classics, and he's very articulate. I never thought I'd actually be defending Tom Jones, since my tastes go toward Hendrix and Joni Mitchell, but there you go.
I don't really mind Tom Jones actually...it's just that every Sunday morning does get a bit boring!
